FAQ & Additional Information

Do I need a GHIN handicap to join SRMA?
Yes. All events use the GHIN handicap system. If you don’t have your GHIN yet, that’s OK! DMAC is offering a $45 special GHIN rate for SRMA members for the 2025 season.

Do I have to play in all events?
No. You can play in as many or as few as you’d like. However, space is limited—signing up early guarantees your spot.

When do I need to register for events?
Please register at least 10 days in advance of each event so we can organize pairings and tee times. If you sign up and later can’t attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to another player.

What if I don’t have a partner for a two-man event?
You can register as a single. If another single registers, you’ll be paired together. The SRMA member list will also be shared so you can reach out to others directly.

What tees will be played?
All players will play from the blue tees, except Seniors, who will play a mixed tee format.

Can I be part of another league and still join SRMA?
Yes. Many members play in other leagues as well.

How is SRMA different from the regular Southridge leagues?
SRMA is a separate group that hosts 8 competitive events each year with opportunities to win cash, shop credit, and bragging rights. It’s also a great way to meet other golfers at Southridge.

Is SRMA affiliated with Southridge Golf Course?
No. SRMA is independently run by its members.

How are tournaments paid for?
Tournament structure and payouts depend on the number of entries. Events are typically flighted between Champ Flight and Seniors.

How much are events and how are they paid for? (Southridge members vs others)
Each event has a set cost that includes golf, cart, and the prize fund.

Membership and event pricing may vary depending on whether you are a Southridge member or not. Full pricing details will be communicated prior to each event.

Who collects the money and how is it managed?
Chuck Purnell, SRMA’s Sergeant at Arms and Treasurer, handles all payments. All money goes directly back to the players through payouts, prizes, and event costs—SRMA is 100% member-run and not-for-profit.

Do all tournaments start at the same time?
Start times may vary, but all events are played in the morning. Final tee times will be communicated closer to each event.
